About The Holt Chronicle
The Holt Chronicle is a free community magazine that is published fortnightly and distributed FREE throughout the town and to more than 20 surrounding villages.
Each issue is read by an estimated 10,000 plus readers and features the latest local news, readers’ letters, forthcoming events, news from the local sport scene and much more.
It also features regular reports from many clubs, societies and organisations in the area, including the Town and District Councils, the Chamber of Trade, local Primary schools and Police. It strives to be both an informative and interesting magazine that keeps the community aware of what is happening where they live, whilst providing a ‘good read’ with something for everyone.
The Holt Chronicle is published by Raycar Publishing.
Its owners, Caroline and Ray, are both local born and bred and know well the area and the people they serve. Between them they have many years of experience in publishing and before forming Raycar had worked together on several occasions.
Ray is the magazine’s designer and desk top publisher, whilst Caroline’s role is more ‘out front’. She reports on local events, visits local businesses and actively encourages the community to contribute to their magazine. This close relationship brings great rewards for all, as it produces a community magazine that is truly ‘for local people by local people’.
The fact that it has doubled in size since it began in 2002, also positively illustrates the growth in popularity that the The Holt Chronicle has gained from the community it serves.
